There's hope at the bottom of Stairwell A.
And we'll get there, yes, we'll get there.
Find a way to open the stairwell door,
And we'll make our way to the lobby floor.

Yes, the path to salvation is Stairwell A
And a way out is there, I know.
No, you can't go up, you can only go down.
To our beds tonight, let's go.

Nine 11: The Musical

This is a song in its beta mode... I like it. I just need to pare it down. It's about a woman who fell in love when she was young with someone she calls her soulmate. Not realizing how special her connection is until after the boy dies, she laments about it at his funeral, speaking to his grave after everyone leaves.

From Nine 11: The Musical

The Mate of My Soul
By Matty Gregg

When in my youth, I fell in love,
I saw your fire and heard a voice.
It called us back to play the role
Of half a world with zero choice.

I lost you, oh, so long ago,
When I was young, I left you there.
Though time goes on and memories fade,
My mate of soul, you would not dare.

I knew you when you were a boy,
A passion-driven, reckless troll.
Your fiery eyes, they burned my skin
And branded me your mate of soul.

And on that night you stamped my core.
We joined on petals from a rose.
The night was pure, our eyes secure,
We stroked our heads from nose-to-nose.

But as for change, the autumn came.
We went inside our bitter walls.
Within my fort, I grew my wings.
And flew beyond the cattle calls.

And on the ground, you watched me fly.
And smiled at me so soft and proud.
I heard you sigh as wind whipped by
To carry me beyond the clouds.

And as I flew, I met a man
Who had me looking straight ahead.
We fell in love, we shared our dreams.
Our paths were tied, and so we wed.

And in that time, the boy grew wings.
Your dreams became the hopes of all.
Your sadness grew, and yet you knew,
To keep the autumn from the fall.

I picture you among the flames,
And know your course is fully paved
You search for me on your last breath,
To save the love you could not save.

Too scared to come back to your path,
In my defense, I have to say
That when we mixed our spirit drink,
I could not take our youth away.

The boy and girl had joined their hearts,
But man and woman die alone.
I hurt from knowing ignorance
My mate of soul, where have you gone?

So raise a light, and then one more
To honor both the boy and man.
My mate of soul I always loved,
But never grew to understand.

oooo baby, Matty is one happy camper. I have the DV Composer's Toolkit in my hands with well over 5000 looping sounds and variations of different instruments... talk about digital inspiration! It should really help me layout Nine 11 quickly and efficiently.

hheheeeeeeeeeeeeeeheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee =)

I'd give up my life for you to tuck me in tonight.

Well, everyone who's gotten the DVDs so far has loved them! That's great... a bit of redemption for all the flak I've gotten for setting the price at $32.50.
